Description:
Lake Ontario, Canada - Summer 1987
"Three Crows" is one of my very first shots taken on Lake Ontario back in 1987 with a Nikon FA, a T-Max 100 B&W film and a zoom lens with 2 doublers, a sort of a very dark 800 mm lens. I am not even sure they are crows and it's not clear to me why I always liked these three blurry birds so much. Maybe they convey a sense of speed, of being one with their medium, the air. Or maybe something about a leader followed by its acolytes. Most probably, they were just trying to get across the lake, no easy feat on that foggy day! Anyway, ever since I started using photoblogs and other similar Internet 2.0 stuff, I always used the Crow(s) as the profile picture and, coming across FAA, I continue on with this tradition.
